‘All Day and a Night’ is a must-watch slow-burn movie especially if you’re a fan of any Ashton Sanders movie.
Directed by Black Panther co-writer, Joe Robert Cole, the movie also stars Jeffrey Wright along with Sanders as father and son (J.D. and Jahkor).
In the movie, Jahkor Abraham Lincoln struggles to keep his dream of rapping alive amidst a gang war in Oakland, his ill-fated life and real-world responsibilities drive him further and further across the line of right and wrong with tragic consequences.
Landing in prison beside his father, J.D. whom he never wanted to be like, Jahkor embarks on an unlikely journey of self-discovery, exploring the events that unite them, in hopes of helping his newborn son break a cycle that feels unavoidable.

Spenser Confidential
Based on the novel Wonderland by Ace Atkins and based on Robert B. Parker’s character Spenser, this comedy-thriller stars Mark Wahlberg as the titular Spenser, an ex-cop fresh from prison, who teams up with his roommate, Hawk (played by Winston Duke), to track down the criminals who murdered two Boston police officers.
The movie follows Spenser (played by Mark Wahlberg) — an ex-cop better known for making trouble than solving it — just got out of prison and is leaving Boston for good. But first he gets roped into helping his old boxing coach and mentor, Henry, with a promising amateur.

Some watch for the horror fans! Crawl stars Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper as a daughter and father, who along with their dog are hunted by alligators after becoming trapped in their home after a heavy hurricane has hit.

Rage
Rage is Showmax’s first original horror movie, yes a local horror!
In the movie, Nicole Fortuin stars as Tamsyn, with Jane de Wet and Tristan de Beer as Roxy and Kyle; Carel Nel as Albert; Sihle Mnqwazana as Neo; Shalima Mkongi as Sihle; and David Viviers as Leon.
The story follows a group of school-leavers descend on a tiny coastal town for a celebration of their freedom. Roxy, Sihle, Kyle, Leon, Tamsyn and Neo party on the beach and drink themselves silly every night.
The townsfolk, Hermien and her son Albert, are welcoming – too welcoming. During a psychedelic trip on the beach, the friends witness a disturbing birth ritual, which could be a hallucination, or not. Soon fertility figurines start to appear at random places, and what is supposed to be the best holiday of their lives turns to horror as the teenagers are picked off one by one.
