While many small businesses are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Facebook has gone on to launch a new feature to allow businesses to sell-through its platform.
Facebook Shops is a new platform to allow businesses to set up a single online store for customers to access on both Facebook and Instagram.
Creating a Facebook Shop is free and businesses are allowed to choose the products they want to sell and the overall look of the shop.
Users can find Facebook Shops on a businessโ Facebook Page or Instagram profile, or discover them through stories or ads. From there, you can browse the full collection, save products youโre interested in and place an order โ either on the businessโ website or without leaving the app if the business has enabled checkout.
In Facebook Shops, customers will be able to message a business through WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct to ask questions, get support, track deliveries and more. And in the future, youโll be able to view a businessโ shop and make purchases right within a chat in WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct.
How it works:
But the scariest thing is – the platform won’t stop scammers to take advantage of customers by selling them fake goods or maybe even not delivering their orders. That’s something that was not highlighted in this.
Facebook Shops will be more widely available in the coming months – and next will be Instagram Shop, a new way to discover and buy products you love in Instagram Explore.
