With June month in already, Showmax has a number of new and interesting shows worth-watching.
The streaming platform is still home to home fave shows like Insecure, Game of Thrones, Lockdown and The River to name a few.

Billions S5
Release Date: Tuesdays from 9 June
Billions Season 5 pursues the ongoing rivalry between Chuck Rhodes (Paul Giamatti) and Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis).
In this season, they both see their vicious rivalry reignited, while new enemies rise and take aim. Social impact pioneer Mike Prince (Corey Stoll) poses a true threat to Axe’s dominance, and Chuck feuds with a formidable district attorney (Roma Maffia). Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillon) is forced back to Axe Capital, where Taylor must fight to protect their employees and their assets. Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff), Chuck’s wife and Axe’s performance coach, reevaluates her loyalties and forges surprising new alliances that put her at odds with both Chuck and Axe.
Gomora S1 – S2
Release Date: Currently streaming
Gomora stars Katlego Danke as Thathi, a spoiled trophy wife whose posh Sandton life is stripped away in an instant. With no money and no job, Thathi is forced to pull her teenage kids out of their private schools and enrol them in a public school in Alexandra.
They also have to move back in with her mother, Mam’Sonto (played by Connie Chiume), a woman whose strict standards and grandmotherly care for her family mask her true nature as the queen of crime in Alexandra.
The all-star cast also includes Themba Ndaba, Zolisa Xaluva, Ama Qamata and Thembi Seete.
Insecure S4
Release Date: Currently streaming
The new season is filled with Issa and Molly’s serious and often hilarious antics while navigating love, work and of course, sex.
When we last saw Issa and Molly, the pair were celebrating Issa’s 30th birthday, dealing with her new boyfriend ghosting her and wondering if Issa made a good decision when opting to leave her job.
Motherland: Fort Salem S1
Release Date: Currently streaming
The series is set in an alternate America where witches ended their persecution by cutting a deal with the government to fight for the country. The series follows three young recruits from basic training to deployment, as they fight terrorist threats with supernatural tactics.
Cape Town actress Jessica Sutton (Kissing Booth) and Taylor Hickson (Deadly Class, Deadpool) lead the talented young cast, while the series is directed by the likes of Steven A. Adelson (Riverdale), Emmy nominee David Grossman (Desperate Housewives), and BAFTA nominee Haifaa Al-Mansour (Wadjda), created by Eliot Laurence (Claws), and exec produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (Succession).
The Outsider S1
Release Date: New episodes every Thursday from 25 June
Police detective Ralph Anderson is still grieving the death of his own son when the mutilated body of 11-year-old Frankie Peterson is found in the Georgia woods. The mysterious circumstances surrounding the horrifying crime lead Ralph to bring in unorthodox private investigator Holly Gibney to help explain the unexplainable.
The cast also includes Golden Globe winner Jason Bateman (Ozark), Emmy nominee Bill Camp (Joker, The Night Of), Oscar nominee Mare Winningham (The Affair, American Horror Story), BAFTA winner Paddy Considine (In America), Critics Choice nominee Julianne Nicholson (Masters of Sex, I, Tonya), and Screen Actors Guild nominee Yul Vázquez (Russian Doll).
This hit HBO miniseries is based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King.
