The Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa will be announcing details on the re-opening of Cinemas, Theatres, Libraries, Galleries and Museums.

The cinema business has been shut down since the beginning of the national COVID-19 lockdown back in March.

According to a statement by the Department, the above-mentioned centres will only allow a limit of 50 people or less.

The Ministers Directions will allow for the re-opening of museums, galleries, libraries and archives subject to strict adherence to all health protocols and the above mentioned places must apply to the Minister within 14 days after publication of the Directions and will be approved, subject to compliance with protocols which will be published in the Ministers Directions in the next few days.

Read: New changes to Level 3 regulations (Salons, Restaurants, Cinemas, and more opening).

The Department reveals that it will deploy officials to make sure everyone is complying with safety measures and such officials shall be given special identity documents.
