Legendary actress Lydia Mokgokoloshi, famously known as Koko Mantsha on Skeem Saam will be taking a break from her role on the SABC1 drama.
According to Sowetan Live Mokgokoloshi remains part of the show on a recurring basis, but viewers will see less of her.
“She will still be in and out of the story. She just won’t be shooting as much as she used to,” said Skeem Saam spokesperson Sumaya Mogola. “Our shooting schedule gets really hectic at times and we don’t want to wear her out.
“She is at a very sensitive age so she needs as much rest, care and comfort as possible.”
In support of her recurring role on Skeem Saam, the latest storyline saw Koko Mantsha move away from Turfloop in Limpopo to spend quality time with her brother Josias.
She plays the role of Kat’s grandmother, and her life revolves around family and church.
The veteran actress joined Skeem Saam back in 2011 when it started airing.
