Black Panther‘ Star Chadwick Boseman died on 28th August 2020 at 43, after a 4-year fight with colon cancer.
The passing of Boseman was confirmed through his official twitter account, with a full statement from the family.
Boseman died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his wife and family by his side, per statement family statement. The actor had been diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016.
“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much”.
“From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.”
The tweet announcing Boseman’s death and honoring his legacy, posted on his official Twitter account, is now the most-liked in Twitter history. At the time of writing this article, the tweet currently has 7.3 million likes and 3.1 million retweets.
The tweet surpassed Barack Obama’s 2017 tweet which was the previous record-holder at 4.3 million likes.
