
Chadwick Boseman’s final movie Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom will hit Netflix later this year.
The movie is directed by George C. Wolfe and is based on the recording session of “Mother of the Blues” Ma Rainey in 1920s Chicago.
Boseman stars along with Viola Davis, Glynn Turman, Colman Domingo, Michael Potts, Taylour Paige, Jonny Coyne, Jeremy Shamos and Dusan Brown.
Netflix has dropped the first pictures from Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom which comes as Chadwick Boseman’s last movie following his passing in August 2020, due to colon cancer.
Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is based on the play of the same name by August Wilson. It focuses on a fateful recording session of “Mother of the Blues” Ma Rainey in Chicago 1927. The story deals with issues of music, race, relationships and the exploitation of black recording artists. The movie is produced by Todd Black’s Escape Artists, Denzel Washington and Dany Wolf.
The movie will arrive on Netflix on 18 December 2020.
