The long-running “Fast and Furious” movie franchise is sadly coming to an end after two more films (F10 and F11), according to reports.
Per Variety, Justin Lin, who has directed the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 9th parts of the series, will return to direct the final two installments and drive the franchise to the finish line after over two decades in theaters.
However, with the end of the “Fast and Furious” franchise, there will be spin-off movies based on film main characters which are currently in development at Universal. One of the development projects is the 2019 movie “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaws” starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, as well as the animated series “Fast & Furious Spy Racers” currently streaming on Netflix.
The 9th edition of the film (F9) will hit cinemas in May 2021, after being pushed back due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The F9 will feature a heavy cast including John Cena, Helen Mirren, and Cardi B.
The “Fast and Furious” film series began in 2001, starring Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and the late Paul Walker.
