Jordan Peele & Nia DaCosta’s ‘Candyman’ gets a 2021 release date

UPDATE: Monday, 26 October 2020 – After being pulled from the schedule for an unset 2021 release, Universal Pictures has confirmed Jordan Peele and Nia DaCosta’s ‘Candyman’ will release on August 27, 2021, at cinemas.

The original Candyman starred Todd as the son of a former slave who is killed by an angry mob after falling in love with a white woman and marrying her. In his afterlife, he becomes Candyman, taking revenge on residents of Chicagoโ€™s Cabrini-Green housing projects, which were built on the area where he was killed.

UPDATE: Monday, 14 September 2020 – Having already been delayed due to coronavirus outbreak worldwide, Jordan Peele’s much-awaited hair-raising horror film Candyman is now being pushed back again.

The film release is now scheduled for 2021 – unspecified date.

It was previously moved from 12 June 12 to 25 September 2020.


 

Following the coronavirus outbreak worldwide, it’s no surprise to see movies pushing back release dates.

Jordan Peele’s much-awaited hair-raising horror film Candyman which was set to release on 12 June 2020 has been pushed to 25 September 2020.
