This should be super exciting news to everyone who has enjoyed the first season of Bridgerton.
Today Netflix has confirmed that Season 2 is happening, with production to begin in spring this year.
The series became a big hit since its launched and was watched by 63 million households across its first 28 days.
The drama series created by Chris Van Dusen is based on Julia Quinn’s novels set in the competitive world of Regency London high society’s ton during the season, when debutantes are presented at court.
The series follows the story of the Bridgerton family: Violet, Lady Bridgerton; her four sons, Anthony, Benedict, Colin and Gregory and her four daughters, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca and Hyacinth. Also featured are the Featheringtons: Portia, Lady Featherington; her husband the Baron; and their three daughters, Philippa, Prudence and Penelope.
The story also puts focus on Daphne Bridgerton who ends up being married to Simon, the Duke of Hastings – and the mysterious author Lady Whistledown who is to be unmasked.
The messaging was shared and written in the voice of Lady Whistledown herself:
“The ton are abuzz with the latest gossip, and so it is my honor to impart to you: Bridgerton shall officially return for a second season. I do hope you have stored a bottle of ratafia for this most delightful occasion.
The incomparable cast of Bridgerton will return to production in the Spring of 2021. This author has been reliably informed that Lord Anthony Bridgerton intends to dominate the social season. I will have my pen ready to report on any and all of his romantic activities.
However, gentle reader, before you set the comments section alight with requests for more sordid details, know that I am disinclined to report on the particulars at this time. Patience, after all, is a virtue.
Yours Truly,
Lady Whistledown”
