Less than two years since it launched, LVMH is putting a halt on Rihanna’s fashion label, Fenty.
The French luxury giant confirmed through a statement to Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) that Fenty would be put on pause.
“Rihanna and LVMH have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions.”
WWD further reveals that skeleton staff remains at Fenty’s Paris headquarters to wind down operations, while the online store is expected to shut in coming weeks.
Fenty’s Instagram account remains inactive since the last post on January 1, and no new collection on their website since November 2020.
Fenty launched in 2019 with modern, contemporary silhouettes and luxurious pieces. It is part of the fashion conglomerate LVMH, which has a portfolio of designers such as Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs.
