
The famous Parisian duo Daft Punk has split up after 28 years.
The news broke through an 8-minute video titled “Epilogue,” from their 2006 film Electroma. Their longtime publicist Kathryn Frazier confirmed the news to Pitchfork, but shared no reason for the split.
Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo formed Daft Punk back in 1993, and has since been famous for their legendary Dance and Pop music.
The duo dropped their debut studio album Homework in 1997 featuring singles such as singles “Around the World” and “Da Funk”. Their second album, Discovery, had further success with hits like “One More Time”, “Digital Love” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”.
Daft Punk scooped a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance with their live album Alive 2007 in 2009. They went on to win more Grammys in 2014 with Random Access Memories album, which won Album of the Year, Best Dance/Electronica Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and “Get Lucky” won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and the Record of the Year.
