20th April (abbreviated 4/20), is globally considered as an occasion for smoking and celebrating the smoking of cannabis.
To join this 4/20 celebration, adidas has linked up with Comedy Central’s longstanding animated staple in South Park to release a special Towelie-themed Campus 80s.
Towelie is a talking towel on South Park, genetically engineered so he could make people as dry as necessary depending on the situation. He is usually seen either appearing out of nowhere to give towel advice to the citizens of South Park or getting high.
This offering of the adidas Campus features a Purple terry cloth upper as a nod to the fictional stoner towel. The fascinating detail is the eye graphics on the tongues which normally appear clear but turn bloodshot red (stoned) when exposed to UV light. Additionally, a stash pocket appears underneath the tongue, and two keychains. South Park and adidas branding completes the design of the shoe.
