eMtee has finally delivered his much-awaited fourth studio album “LOGAN,” named after his son.
The album is his first solid project since departing the controversial Ambitiouz Entertainment.
On this 16-track album released under eMtee Records, he delivers mellow, trap-leaning production led by his long-time producer Ruff and up-and-coming producers such as KnifeBeatz, BFB and Master BC. On features, he links up with Gwamba, Lolli Native, Moozlie, Flash and J Smash.
LOGAN joins a catalogue that’s built on valuing family and companionship. His groundbreaking 2015 debut album Avery was named after his firstborn son; 2017’s Manando, after his OG. The cover of DIY 2, his 2018 EP, features a silhouette of Emtee and his two sons.
The lyrically gifted rapper shines as he raps and sings in both English and South African languages isiZulu, isiXhosa and tsotsitaal (township slang). The album presents a self-assured Emtee who’s in his comfort zone musically, seamlessly consolidating his influences, which range from Afropop to R&B, kwaito and others.
