Vigro Deep has surprised his fans with a brand new album “Baby Boy 4”.
The 15-track album is a sequel to the Baby Boy album series and Rise of a Baby Boy which released last year.
At just 20 years of age Vigro Deep has cemented himself as a tastemaker in the Amapiano genre and this album is a testament to that. Throughout the project, Vigro not only references his own sounds but explores how to stretch the genre.
But not just that as a growing producer-DJ, he explores influences and references of house sounds known but never explored as he did.
Tapped to feature on the album are notable names like DJ Buckz, Focalistic, Kamo Mphela, Mas Musiq and what might be the last joint single with JazziDisciples’ Josiah and Mr Jazziq.
The opening track Dibiring set the bar of the listening experience with songs that break away from the convention showcasing the versatility of the producer-DJ.
The overall listening experience is a guttural listen of songs led by vocalists detailing the realities of living as young, black human experiences. Straddling between songs of love and being in love and tracks that sound like prayers.
From singles like Take It Slow, featuring Shasha, Thando, featuring Njabulo RZA to Eduze, featuring DJ Buckz and Mr Jazziq.
Vigro Deep still manages to break away from the convention set out in the album and delivers dance singles which have a dance and kwaito influence.
