In celebration of the 2021 Mandela Day, New York-based streetwear label/retailer KITH and House Of Mandela have worked on a special capsule collection.
Consisting of graphic T-shirts and Crewnecks, the collection is designed by the KITH team together with Nelson Mandela’s daughter Makaziwe Mandela, and his granddaughter Tukwini Mandela, as well as host volunteer and donation initiatives that align with the family’s values.
According to KITH, the project has been in the works for a while.
“In February of last year, we were honored to receive a message from @thehouseofmandela about working together on a project to spread awareness of the Mandela Freedom Project, Mandela Day, and to honor the legacy of Nelson Mandela,” said the brand.

The KITH for Mandela Day 2021 collection is releasing on Monday, 19th July 2021 on KITH.com at 5:00pm (CAT).
Proceeds from this release will be donated to different organizations that align with the Six Pillars of Mandela.
In the meantime, here’s a sitdown with Nelson Mandela’s grandson Kweku Mandela to discuss how his grandfather impacted him and his family’s life and purpose, his perspective on today’s current landscape, Mandela Day, and more.
