Following reports that Mpura, Killer Kau, and Khanya “The Voice” Hadebe died in a fatal car accident, the Soweto music & Entertainment Academy (SMEA) record label confirmed the passing of these members along with the other two.
Per the statement:
On Monday, the 9th of August 2021, the families of the deceased received a call from Marikana Police Station about a fatal accident that had taken on Marikana road (N4 Northwest).
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of 3 members affiliated with the record label, SMEA, an inspiring record label from Soweto. The trio was traveling to a Gig in Rustenburg with other artists in the car. Involved in this fatality was hitmaker and Amapiano co-pioneer Killer Kau, Thando Tot who was his DJ, TD who was SMEA’s official road manager, Mpura Mpura Artist, The Voice (Mpura’s DJ) and 1other female.
We ask that you allow the families of the late youngsters be given space to grieve their loss, whilst trying to make funeral arrangements.

Talented Amapiano vocalists Mpura, and Killer Kau (23) as well as Khanya “The Voice” Hadebe have reportedly died in a fatal car accident.
While there are not a lot of details available at the moment, Sunday World reports that Mpura and Killer Kau died in a single car crash while on their way to a gig in Rustenburg.
As news began to spread across social media, Mpura, Killer Kau, and The Voice’ friends and fans started to share their grief on Twitter.
Mpura: famed Amapiano vocalist with hits like Umsebenzi Wethu under his belt.
Killer Kau: needs no introduction for the number of hits he has featured on including Kokota, Thulokuthi, Amaneighbour amongst others.
Khanya “The Voice” Hadebe : Joburg-based DJ, known in the culture as Illuminated Greens.
