BMF: Black Mafia Family S1

The series is inspired by the true story of two brothers who rose from the decaying streets of southwest Detroit in the late 1980s and gave birth to one of the most influential crime families in this country.
The series premiered on September 26, 2021, on Starz. In September 2021, the series was renewed for a second season.

Alice in Borderland

Inspired by a manga of the same name, Alice in Borderland is similar to Squid Game in that it follows several young people as they survive in Tokyo engulfed in lethal competition.
Revolving around the spine-chilling adventures of a young gamer named Arisu, this manga-based live-action show presents an alternate, apocalyptic version of Tokyo where its inhabitants are forced to compete in dangerous games. Winning lets you live a little longer, losing brings immediate death. Oh, and refusing to play results in death too, but by a laser. Directed by Shinsuke Sato (‘Bleach,’ ‘Death Note‘), this dystopian show, inspired by the lore of ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ explores dark themes of survival, social inequality, existential purpose, and the nature of mankind.
Black Tax Season 2

The highly anticipated Black Tax Season 2 stars lead Jo-Anne Reyneke who portrays the character of Thuli Dlamini. The first-ever locally co-produced original sitcom with BET Africa and Showmax scooped a SAFTA for Best Scriptwriting in a TV Comedy.
Black Tax is a hilarious, fun and light-hearted sitcom entrenched in the culture of black tax. If you think you’re just earning your way in this world, think again because it’s payback since the first paycheque. The original sitcom follows a black professional, Thuli, who grapples with the unsaid aspect of her community that affects most middle-class African people. Thuli has to deal with the unspoken law that most viewers can resonate with: of paying back to the family and extended family. Season 2 will see Thuli going to night school to up-skill herself, in order to rise above her black tax. Look out for a host of new celebrity cameos as well as returning Season 1 favourites.
Swagger

Apple announced the first season of the highly anticipated drama series, “Swagger” from creator and showrunner Reggie Rock Bythewood, NBA superstar Kevin Durant and Imagine’s Brian Grazer.
The 10-episode first season is inspired by Durant’s experiences, “Swagger” explores the world of youth basketball, and the players, their families and coaches who walk the fine line between dreams and ambition, and opportunism and corruption. Off the court, the show reveals what it’s like to grow up in America.
The new series is led by an ensemble cast of stars including O’Shea Jackson Jr., Isaiah Hill, Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis, Shinelle Azoroh, Tessa Ferrer, Caleel Harris, James Bingham, Solomon Irama, Ozie Nzeribe and Tristan Mack Wilds.

Netflix‘s stalker hit series ‘You’ is returning for season 3, and is slated to premiere on 15th October 2021.
The series is based on the novel series You by Caroline Kepnes, which currently consists of three books, although Variety reported that the upcoming season would not be an adaptation of Kepnes’ third book, You Love Me.
While Season 2 sees Joe move to LA in the hopes of being a better person by putting his stalkerish tendencies behind. He meets Love Quinn who has also killed one-too-many people in the name of passion.
Season 3 will focus on the main character Joe Goldberg as he navigates fatherhood after finding out at the end of the previous season that his girlfriend Love Quinn was pregnant.
Colin in Black & White

The upcoming new series ‘Colin in Black & White’ is based on Colin Kaepernick’s early years.
Colin in Black & White is six-episode series created by Colin Kaepernick and Ava DuVernay. Michael Starrbury writes and serves as executive producer, alongside DuVernay and Kaepernick who will appear as himself as narrator of the series.
The series will provide an introspective look at Kaepernick’s adolescent years as a Black teen growing up with a white adopted family.
Jaden Michael as Young Colin before reaching the highest levels of American football as an NFL quarterback and becoming a cultural icon and activist; Nick Offerman and Mary-Louise Parker as his well-meaning parents Rick and Teresa; and Colin Kaepernick himself, who appears as the present-day narrator of his own story, guiding viewers through a robust and colorfully presented array of historical and contemporary contextual moments.
Succession S3

Succession, winner of Best Drama at both the Emmys and Golden Globes in 2020, follows four very rich siblings behaving very badly while trying to win their father’s approval – and control of his company, a global media and entertainment empire.
In Season 3, that already impressive cast is adding Oscar winner Adrien Brody (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Pianist) and Emmy winner Alexander Skarsgård (Big Little Lies, True Blood), not to mention Black Reel winner Sanaa Lathan (The Affair, Love & Basketball), Emmy nominee Hope Davis (Your Honor, Captain America: Civil War) and singer Jihae (Mortal Engines).

Duduzile Ngcobo (Durban Gen, eHostela, Uzalo) also features as Khathu’s disapproving mother-in-law.
Sex Education S3

Created by Fangoria Chainsaw Award nominee Don Mancini (Bride of Chucky, Child’s Play), the series stars Oscar nominee Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings’ Wormtongue and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’s Billy Bibbit) as the voice of serial-killer-possessed Good Guy doll Chucky, with child actor Zackary Arthur (Transparent) as Jake Wheeler.
