Bolt (former Taxify) is taking on Uber with its new food delivery service ‘Bolt Food’ which has been launched in Tallinn, Estonia and recently in Cape Town.
Now the food delivery service will expand to Johannesburg, offering the city’s residents access to food deliveries from more than 300 restaurants and fast-food outlets.
Bolt Food is a direct take-on to UberEats which has been in the market for years now.
Bolt Food launched in Cape Town in April 2020 and has grown to offer delivery from more than 800 restaurants.
Bolt Food will now deliver Joburg customers’ orders from a wide range of restaurants and fast-food outlets, including Burger King, Pizza Hut, Subway, Andiccio’s, Del Forno and many others.
The service is currently available from Bryanston in the north to Braamfontein in the heart of the city and will expand across the city as more restaurants join the platform.
