The Wife

When Showmax announced they were making a telenovela inspired by Dudu Busani-Dube’s bestselling novel Hlomu The Wife, overjoyed fans immediately took to social media to offer their casting suggestions for the lead roles of Hlomu and Mqhele.
In this original local telenovela, rising star Mbalenhle Mavimbela plays Hlomu, a journalist who falls in love with a taxi driver, not realising that when you marry a man, you also marry his secrets. Based on Dudu Busani-Dube’s novels Hlomu the Wife (2015), Zandile the Resolute (2015), and Naledi His Love (2015), which centre on the lives of eight brothers from a crime family, as seen through their wives’ eyes. Also starring Bonko Khoza, Kwenzo Ngcobo, Sipho Ndlovu, Thulane Shange, and Zikhona Sodlaka.
Every Thursday three new episodes will be loaded onto the platform.
‘Power Book 2: Ghost’ S2

After serving a successful S1, Starz has renewed this action-packed thriller for Season 2.
The series picks up shortly after the original series as Tariq St. Patrick finds himself on his own for the first time in his life as his father is dead. Tariq finds himself splitting his time between school and hustling.
“Power Book II: Ghost” begins its second season with Tariq still running from a legacy that haunts him. Forced into the choice to take the life of his professor, Jabari Reynolds, Tariq finds himself drifting further from that which he’s been fighting to protect: his family.
This is an expansion to Power Book IIIl: Raising Kanan, as well as Book IV: Force coming in early 2022 and Book V: Influence on the pipeline.
Colin in Black & White

Colin in Black & White is six-episode series created by Colin Kaepernick and Ava DuVernay. Michael Starrbury writes and serves as executive producer, alongside DuVernay and Kaepernick who will appear as himself as narrator of the series.
The series provides an introspective look at Kaepernick’s adolescent years as a Black teen growing up with a white adopted family.
Jaden Michael as Young Colin before reaching the highest levels of American football as an NFL quarterback and becoming a cultural icon and activist; Nick Offerman and Mary-Louise Parker as his well-meaning parents Rick and Teresa; and Colin Kaepernick himself, who appears as the present-day narrator of his own story, guiding viewers through a robust and colorfully presented array of historical and contemporary contextual moments.
Inside Job

If you’re a fan of animation series then, Inside Job should be next on your list. Inside Job is a workplace comedy set in a world where every conspiracy theory is real. It is centered on an American shadow government organization Cognito, Inc., which attempts to control the world and keep the conspiracies secret. The series follows a team led by a tech genius and her new partner, as they work in the organization alongside reptilian shapeshifters, a human-dolphin hybrid, and a sapient mushroom from hollow Earth.

Season 2 of the drama series For Life picks up the story of once wrongfully accused prisoner Aaron Wallace, now a free man and hard-working lawyer trying to piece his life back together and find justice for those the system has failed.
Narcos: Mexico: Season 3

The series explores the origins of the modern drug war by going back to its roots, beginning at a time when the Mexican trafficking world was a loose and disorganized confederation of independent growers and dealers. Witness the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s as Félix Gallardo (Diego Luna) takes the helm, unifying traffickers in order to build an empire.
With Félix Gallardo in prison and no longer in control, the bad blood between Tijuana and Sinaloa continues in the new season – and Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán is in the spotlight.
Season 3 examines the war that breaks out after Felix’s empire splinters. As newly independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican kingpins emerge. The series follows a group of teenage 7th graders, including best friends Nick Birch and Andrew Glouberman, as they navigate their way through puberty with struggles like masturbation and sexual arousal all in the Westchester County suburbs of New York City.
Acting as over-sexualized shoulder angels are the hormone monsters: Maurice (who pesters Andrew and Matthew and occasionally Nick), Connie—the hormone monstress (who pesters Jessi and Nick and occasionally Missy) and Mona (who mainly pesters Missy).
Throughout the series, the kids interact with people and objects who are often personified and offer helpful, yet confusing, advice in their puberty-filled lives including the ghost of Duke Ellington, a French-accented Statue of Liberty, a pillow capable of getting pregnant, a bar of Adderall, and even Jessi’s own vulva. They seek out their destiny as puberty destroys them mentally and physically.
True Story

Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes take the spotlight in the new Netflix limited series ‘True Story.’
In the series, Hart takes the spotlight as a successful and world-famous comedian celebrity. But when his wayward older brother, played by Snipes, visits him at a stop on his tour, they get into a situation that puts Kid’s livelihood at stake and threatens to destroy everything he’s built.
The series is written, executive produced and showrun by “Narcos” and “Narcos: Mexico” EP Eric Newman, as part of his overall TV deal with Netflix. Hart also executive produced. Caroline Currier from Grand Electric and Mike Stein and Tiffany Brown from Hartbeat Productions co-produced.
