It has become some sort of tradition that early January comes with the public announcement of the Matric Results — but unfortunately, things have taken a turn this year.

The Department of Basic Education announced that the Matric exam results (class of 2021) will not be published on any media platforms.

The DBE issued a statement to media houses of the decision on Monday, 10 January 2022.

Per the department’s notice:

“In order to comply with the provisions of the POPIA, the usual practice of publishing the National Senior Certificate (NSC) results on public platforms (media platforms) will not occur for 2021”.

Just like in previous years, all learners will be required to obtain their Statements of Results from their respective schools.

The results will be released on 21 January 2022.

[PUBLIC NOTICE]The usual practice of publishing exam results on public platforms will not occur for 2021 exams. As was also the practice in previous years, all learners will be required to obtain their Statements of Results from their respective schools. https://t.co/VzYd0xiRT6
