WE ARE OUTSIDE and that means the vibe for outdoor markets has now become a tradition for weekends.

Most of them take place on weekends with some happening on Sundays only – when you are likely to be nursing a hangover from a wild night out and in this case, you could do with some refreshing outdoor vibe, good food, and socializing.

Here’s a roundup of our favourite markets in Joburg – including food, fashion, and everything else:

The Playground (formerly Neighbourgoods Market)

The weekly market will bring back Braamfontein’s heartbeat and is set to be a great destination for Joburg locals and visitors – with a superb and highly curated mix of food, design, art, and music.

The Playground will open at the same location – 73 Juta Street (Braamfontein, Johannesburg) – and again change the way that weekends are spent in Joburg.

Opening hours
The Playground artisan market will open from 09:00 – 18:00 every Saturday and include an afternoon music line-up.

Ticketing/ Entrance
The Playground will be free to enter from 09am to 11am.
From 11am to 6pm a R20 entry fee will be payable at the door by card only.
Note that this will be a cashless environment.
