Weeks after the passing of Riky Rick and DJ City Lyts, the South African music industry suffers the loss of another pioneer, Tumi Mooi known to many as DJ Dimplez.

The popular jock passed away on Sunday from a brain hemorrhage, a type of stroke.

DJ Dimplez has for years pushed and been at the forefront of SA Hip-Hop. He is one of the few jocks that helped in pushing local Hip-Hop to the mainstream through music releases, collaborations and events.

DJ Dimplez is known for giving birth to the popular gathering Pop Bottles, and The PopCast podcast hosted by Ms Cosmo and Scoop Makhathini.

His music catalogue includes fan-favorites; Way Up feat. Cassper Nyovest and Anatii, Yaya feat. Anatii and DreamTeam, We Ain’t Leaving feat. L-Tido and Anatii and Amantombazane Remix to name a few.
