Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri has announced that the photo/video sharing platform will begin testing NFTs with a small group of creators.
The test will start with selected creators in the U.S. starting this week.
The test will mean selected creators will be able share tokens they’ve purchased or created – and can be shared on the feed, Stories and in DMs.
Supported blockchains for showcasing NFTs on IG are Ethereum and Polygon, with support for Flow and Solana to follow.
Mosseri also expressed that there will be no fees for sharing NFTs on the platform.
The third-party wallets compatible will include Rainbow, MetaMask, and Trust Wallet, with Coinbase, Dapper and Phantom to follow.
