Grammy-award-winning artist and emerging designer, DJ Black Coffee, has today shared a glimpse of his latest interior work laid out in his penthouse space.
Black Coffee shared an inside look at his penthouse suite located at Hallmark House Hotel in Johannesburg. This marks his first interior design work. However, on this project, he revealed that he collaborated with international award-winning interior architect Tristan du Plessis.
Tristan du Plessis is an internationally recognized award-winning interior architect based in South Africa with offices in both Johannesburg and Cape Town. His bold, distinctive design has been serving international luxury hospitality, dining, and tailor-made residential design spanning from Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the US.
Per the Hallmark House site listing, its residential units boast one bedroom, a bathroom with a spacious shower, a kitchenette with space for a washing machine or dishwasher, an open-plan living area, and a large terrace balcony.

The entire space is softly lit with a strict dark colour scheme. Other perks inside the suite include hidden CDJ’s atop the marble counter. The noticeable marble aesthetic continues in the kitchen and throughout some parts of the bedroom and bathroom.

Black Coffee’s love for local art pieces is seen through a tasteful selection of the rug, planterette, wall pieces, and Maxhosa’s homeware accesories in the living area and the bedroom.

This penthouse suite overlooks Johannesburg Central.
