The upcoming iOS 16 update will allow iPhone users to “Edit” and “Unsend” iMessages.
Apple announced this new feature and more at its WWDC 2022 conference on Monday evening. In addition to the “Edit” and “Undo Send” features, users will also be able to mark iMessage conversations as unread, so that they can remember to go back and respond to them later.
The “Mark as unread” will work for both iMessages and SMSs, while the “Edit” and “Undo Send” are reserved for iMessage only.
Users will have 15 minutes to edit or unsend an iMessage. Additionally, you’ll be able to recover recently deleted iMessages for up to 30 days after deletion.
To access these options, all you have to do is press and hold the message you sent, then a pop-up menu will show.
iOS 16 will be available soon, only to users with iPhone 8 to iPhone 13.
Additionally, SharePlay will be available in the iMessage app so people can watch content together, such as movies, songs, and share playback controls with one another, all while chatting.
