Instagram has announced brand new features that will be rolling out in the coming weeks. Specifically made for creators, the app will now allow users to upload Reels that are up to 90 seconds long.
Import Audio:
Another exciting feature is the ability to import your own audio. Users will be able to use their own audio when creating Reels, to add commentary or background noise to any video.
Ability to pin posts:
Instagram users will now be able to pin up to 3 posts to appear at the top of their feed.
Interactive stickers:
The platform will also bring interactive stickers (polls, questions, emoji slider) to Reels so creators can engage with their audience in many ways. The interactive stickers are popular on Stories.
Stickers will include:
– Poll: Making a two-part reel? Poll your audience on what should happen in your next video so that they can help shape the storyline themselves.
– Quiz: Put your audience’s skills to the test (or teach them something new!) with this sticker.
– Emoji slider: Let your audience share how your content makes them feel with a sticker that makes the heart-eye emoji even more powerful.
At the moment Instagram video content is in four formats: Reels, Live, Stories, and Instagram Video.
These recent updates are a clear indication that the platform is focusing more on video content to compete with other rising video-based platforms like TikTok.
