Showmax

For our TV Show of the week, we have picked Showmax‘s new docuseries ‘Strangers You Know’.

The 7-part series unpacks South Africa’s high-profile gender-based violence cases.

This includes the heart-breaking story of Palesa Madiba, a young student at the University of Johannesburg, who was murdered and buried in a shallow grave in the backyard of her friend’s home in Soweto.

Other episodes touch on the details of the murders of Karabo Mokoena, Anene Booysen, Jayde Panayiotou and the Van Breda family.

Through heart-wrenching interviews with family members and friends, and the analysis of the lead investigators, forensic pathologists, and prosecutors involved in each case – this true-crime series will take viewers into key moments in each case to uncover how these unsuspecting victims were brutally killed by someone they knew.

Strangers You Know also analyzes the overwhelming evidence that perpetrators left behind at scene of the crime.

You can watch the full docu-series now on Showmax.
