SABC has secured the broadcasting rights for the English Premier League this season. This means soccer fans across South Africa will be able to watch Premier League 2022/2023 matches via SABC channels.
The league kicks off this week, and SABC will begin broadcasting on Saturday, August 6.
The battle continues between local networks, but DStv still dominates when it comes to securing rights for major matches across different leagues. Even with its subscribers complaining about the steep pricing and not much value in content, it is because of sports channels that many subscribers are still loyal to their service.
Below are the matches to look forward to this opening weekend:
Friday (August 5):
Crystal Palace v Arsenal
Saturday (August 6):
Fulham v Liverpool
Bournemouth v Aston Villa
Leeds United v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Leicester City v Brentford
Newcastle United v Nottingham Forrest
Tottenham Hotspur v Southampton
Everton v Chelsea
Sunday (August 7):
Manchester United v Brighton & Hove Albion
West Ham United v Manchester City
