Tom Sachs and Nike recently launched a new silhouette dubbed the “General Purpose Shoe” (GPS), which has already been released in other parts of the world.
Intended for daily wear and an initiative with NikeCraft—the NikeCraft GPS represents 10 years of partnership between Nike and Tom Sachs, a collaboration that creates new perspectives on serving the future of athletes and sport.
The GPS is built—with a three-piece molded cup sole, signature donning straps, microfiber collar and ultra-breathable knit—packs a value punch. “It took a decade to make a shoe this simple, as simple as can be and no simpler. NikeCraft shuns innovation for its own sake, but embraces it as a necessity,” says Sachs.
Fast forward to September 2022, Tom Sachs and Nike are giving the shoe a wider release, and this time it’s the “Dark Sulfur” colourway. This offering of the NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe arrives in a similar mesh build with suede overlays, but dressed in a Dark Sulfur, White, and Light Cream color scheme. Other details includes Red pull tabs and White Swooshes on the sides. Tom Sachs branding stamped behind the tongue while the NikeCraft logo appears on the insoles and outsole completes the design.
Look out for Tom Sachs’ NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe “Dark Sulfur” to release on Friday, 02 September 2022 via Nike SNKRS ZA (12:00 midday). The retail price is set at R2 099,95.
