Following the iOS 16 update, iPhone will now alert you when you’ve connected fake AirPods.
When you connect, a user will get an alert to verify that your AirPods are genuine.
The alert gives users the option to cancel connecting their unverified AirPods, or to connect them via Bluetooth settings.
You can choose to not connect your unverified AirPods, or to connect them in Bluetooth settings. If you connect your unverified AirPods, they may not perform as expected.
On the bright side, this could help many Apple users, especially from getting ripped off with fakes.
