Sports and entertainment stars—LeBron James, Kevin Hart, Kevin Durant, and James Harden are among some of the new investors in the throwback sports apparel company Mitchell & Ness.

Mitchell & Ness is currently owned by Fanatics, a sports apparel giant led by Philadelphia 76ers part-owner Michael Rubin. Fanatics bought Mitchell & Ness in February of 2022 and owns own 75% of Mitchell & Ness, while the rest is in the hands of the celebrity group that includes Jay-Z, Meek Mill, LeBron James’ business partner Maverick Carter and the D’Amelio family of TikTok fame, according to the sources.

LeBron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Joel Embiid, Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Rich Paul, Odell Beckham Jr., and Kevin Hart are among the new people to join the company’s ownership group.

The new investors will help the company with its future collaborations, capsule collections, and other creative endeavors.

“Athletes, celebrities and artists are sick of just getting checks, they want to make money from equity. They want to be partners in these businesses,” Michael Rubin told CNBC.

You can shop the Mitchell & Ness apparel at NBA Store (Sandton City).
