SABC has launched a new over-the-top (OTT) streaming service called SABC+. On the service, users will be able to stream 19 radio stations, the three main channels (SABC 1, SABC 2, SABC 3), SABC Sports, and the 24-hour News channel.
The disappointing part is that the platform doesn’t even have a quarter of the SABC’s archive, from their classic shows to the current. Only Uzalo, Generations, Skeem Saam, and Muvhango are the main shows to catch up on. The overall catalogue here is weak enough to attract new users or even go against streamers like DStv, Netflix, Showmax, and others.
SABC+ also has paid-for subscription options for additional channels, including BBC World News, Boing, FashionTV, and TNT Africa.
Paid subscription starts from R7 a day up to R49 a month.
The service is now live on sabcplus.com.
