The Fergusons’ drama series ‘Kings of Joburg’ is returning for a second season on Netflix. The second season, which has been in production this year, will hit our screens early 2023.
The much-awaited new season will premiere on the streamer on 27 January 2023.
Reprising their roles are South Africa’s finest talent including Connie Ferguson, Zolisa Xaluva, Thembi Seethe, Cindy Mahlangu, Nnekwa Tsajwa, Buhle Samuels, Thapelo Mokoena, TK Sebothoma and Altovise Lawrence.
With the loss of the king of Joburg Simon Masire, the family adapts to a new king and new enemies in the City Of Gold.
The new season will continue without lead actor and executive producer Shona Ferguson, who passed away in 2021 due to COVID-19-related complications.
The first season premiered debuted in 2020, with a total of 6 episodes. The drama series delves into legacy building, fragmented family structures, treacherous brotherhoods, and the effects of crime and African masculinities on families and society at large.
