The organisers of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) have announced that the event scheduled to have taken place on 17 and 18 March 2023, has been postponed until 23 and 24 February 2024.
According to an issued statement, the organizers were faced with delays and ‘unforeseen challenges’.
Several factors have influenced this difficult decision. These include a series of unavoidable delays and unforeseen challenges, as well as uncertainties around the future of load shedding, all of which have negatively impacted the planning for 2023.
Consequently, and after consultation with stakeholders, it was felt it was better to reschedule the 21st celebration of the CTIJF until 2024 to stage the show espAfrika wants to deliver and that does justice to the CTIJF brand, but most importantly, one that Festinos deserve.
Ticket refunds
All Festinos who have purchased tickets from Ticketmaster may either retain them as espAfrika will honour the cost of these ticket for the 2024 event or obtain a full refund from Ticketmaster.co.za. Please visit this link: https://help.ticketmaster.co.za/hc/en-us
Please note, no monies from the sale of tickets to date have been passed to the organisers, as they vest with Ticketmaster and therefore the refund procedure needs to be done via Ticketmaster and not by espAfrika.

After a three-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) will be making a return in 2023 for its 21st-anniversary celebration.
The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is slated to take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, on Friday 17th March and Saturday 18th March 2023.
The announcement was conveyed by Judith Sephuma, South Africa’s Queen of Afro-jazz who is billed to perform at the upcoming festival.
“The Cape Town International Jazz Festival holds a special place in my heart. I performed at the very first one and am happy to be at this, the 21 st event, to share my music with Festinos again. There has been a definite gap in the music festival calendar without the CT Jazz Fest these past couple of years, so I am delighted it is back, and it promises to be amazing – as usual. I hope to see you all there,” said Sephuma.
There will be three stages hosting more than 21 music performances.
– Rosies, which jazz purists will appreciate for the exceptional audio quality of the acoustics complementing the performers’ sound.
