You may have seen the local series “Side Dish,” which debuted recently on Netflix.

The series stars Jo Anne Rayneke as Sli, Matshepo Princess Maleme as Joyce, Refilwe Madumo as Amanda, Thuso Mbedu as Phiwe, Ntando Menzi Cube, and Bohang Moeko.

The 4-episode series, directed by Mandla Ngcongwane, follows four friends, Sli, Amanda, Joyce, and Phiwe, who take a boozy weekend trip that spirals out of control when one woman’s lover unexpectedly shows up to join the party. Through all this chaos of secrets, they end up with a string of murders on their hands, and their time runs out when the cops launch a manhunt for them.

While it’s easy to get lost in this fast-paced story, all the drama and chaos will keep you engaged throughout the 4 episodes. The ending could have been much more tasteful and solid, but it delivers nothing close.

You can stream this series on Netflix.
