Rocking the Daisies has announced Stormzy as the headliner for their 2023 edition, set for October.
The UK grime artist will headline the festival taking place from 6-8 October 2023 at Cloof Wine Estate, Cape Town and 8 October 2023 at SuperSport Park, Pretoria.
Stormzy broke into the UK underground music scene through his Wicked Skengman series of freestyles over classic grime beats. He won Best Grime Act at the 2014 and 2015 MOBO Awards.
He was initially booked to headline the same festival in 2020-21 along with Ari Lennox and Col3trane, but the dates were canceled due to the pandemic.
Besides as an artist, he also comments on UK politics and can be remembered well for calling out Theresa May for her perceived inaction in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire during his performance at the 2018 Brit Awards.
