Afrobeats biggest festival, Afro Nation, will head to Nigeria for the first time this year after the success of the Ghana edition in 2022.
Since its inception four years ago in Portugal, the festival has expanded its reach globally, including a highly successful debut in Miami, USA in May, and a recent edition in Portugal.
Afro Nation Nigeria will take place on 19-20 December at Tafawa Balewa Square.
The decision to bring Afro Nation to Nigeria holds immense significance as it marks a homecoming for the festival. Nigeria, known for being the birthplace of numerous international Afrobeats superstars who have propelled the genre to global recognition, will now host the biggest celebration of African music the world has ever witnessed. SMADE, the co-founder of Afro Nation, expressed his excitement about the venture, stating, “As someone who grew up in Lagos, and then spent years promoting African music in London and beyond, this will truly be a full circle moment, bringing the Afro Nation show back home to Lagos.”

The festival has also made way for Amapiano, showcasing the finest artists leading this genre. By bringing the festival to Nigeria, the heart of Afrobeats, Afro Nation aims to elevate the genre’s influence and further solidify its position as a global music phenomenon.
