The highly anticipated Rocking the Daisies 2023 festival, originally slated for October 6th to 8th in Cape Town and October 8th in Pretoria, has faced a setback. The event has been rescheduled to November due to ongoing adverse weather conditions in the Western Cape.
The festival organizers released an official statement announcing the new dates: November 17-19 for Cape Town and November 19 for Pretoria.
In their statement, the festival organizers expressed their reasons for this decision, citing “devastating floods and unprecedented weather in the Western Cape,” along with continuous rainfall throughout September during their crucial site setup period. They noted that the decision was made in collaboration with their title sponsor, Johnnie Walker.
Headliners Stormzy, J.I.D., The Vamps, Denzel Curry, and Westside Boogie are still to perform at the new scheduled dates.
All the tickets will automatically be rolled over to the new dates, but those who would like a refund will still have that option available.
The statement went on to mention the severe impact of the weather on the Western Cape, stating, “With the Western Cape being devastated by severe weather, our hearts are with the disaster management efforts currently underway across communities in the region more severely affected than our festival.”
The festival organizers also expressed their gratitude to Johnnie Walker South Africa and their other sponsors and partners for their unwavering support during these challenging and unpredictable times.
