In a unique blend of music and football, Spotify and FC Barcelona have joined forces to create an exciting partnership that’s shaking up the game.
As the team’s Main Partner and Global Audio Streaming Partner, Spotify is transforming Camp Nou into a vibrant space that celebrates artists from around the world while connecting FC Barcelona fans with their favorite creators and players.
This innovative collaboration, which is said to be along R5.9 million from reports, marks a significant step in merging the realms of football and music. Beyond securing naming rights to the iconic Camp Nou stadium, Spotify is using this sponsorship to spotlight musicians on the global stage.
African artists have been given a special spotlight in this partnership. South African Amapiano vocalists Pabi Cooper and Ch’cco, along with Nigerian sensations Odumodublvck and Teni, have all received recognition and love from FC Barcelona and Spotify. Teni is well-known for her Afrobeats bangers, while Odumodublvck has amassed over 1,164,225 monthly listeners on the streaming platform.
To top it off, these artists feature on Barça African Connect Playlist, which showcases different sounds and other artists from the continent. Additionally featured on the playlist are songs by Burna Boy, Tems, Tyler ICU, 2woBunnies, and Focalistic, to name a few.
The playlist is made up of top African tracks that help Alejandro Balde, Jules Konde and Lamine Yamal get game-day ready. These three footballers are not only some of FC Barcelona’s key first team players, they are also of African descent. Alejandro Balde, who recently visited Guinea Bissau was born in Barcelona to Guinean and Dominican parents, Jules Kounde was born in Paris to a French mother and a Beninese father, and Yamal’s father is from Morocco and his mother is from Equatorial Guinea.
Barça African Connect is updated weekly, since its 14 September launch, and features different genres of music including Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afro pop and more.

Spotify appears on the jerseys of both the Men’s and Women’s FC Barcelona teams for the 2022/23 season and throughout the subsequent four seasons. Furthermore, Spotify’s sponsorship extends to the training shirts, commencing from the 2022/23 season and extending for the subsequent three seasons.
This long-term partnership also encompasses the coveted title rights of the stadium. This comprehensive agreement, will span the entire duration of the ambitious Camp Nou site redevelopment. This redevelopment is a pivotal aspect of the Espai Barça project, aimed at revamping the Club’s facilities and creating a state-of-the-art integrated Barça entertainment hub accessible to the city and beyond.
