In another tense showdown at the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday, 28 October 2023, South Africa cemented their names into the records of rugby history by winning the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
The Springboks secured their fourth world title in a heart-stopping clash with New Zealand, ultimately prevailing with a razor-thin 12-11 victory.

The Springboks, along with President Cyril Ramaphosa, raised the Webb Ellis trophy bearing their name. Just so you’re aware, the trophy is enclosed in a specially designed Louis Vuitton trunk.

Louis Vuitton has served as the Official Trophy Trunk Supplier for the Rugby World Cup since 2015, and this enduring partnership extended to the Rugby World Cup France 2023.
The hand-crafted trunk showcases the iconic Monogram canvas in the tournament’s colours, along with the Roman numerals XV (15), symbolizing the number of players in a rugby union team. It also boasts a Louis Vuitton leather lining in the same Pantone blue as the painted V detail, marking a historic first for the Maison’s trophy trunks.

The trunk is crafted by artisans in Asniรจres, located just outside of Paris.
