The stage is set for an electrifying celebration of soul music and African talent as BET unveils the official nominees for the “Soul Train Awards” 2023.
With the awards show set to take place in a brand-new location in Los Angeles, the event promises to be a grand fusion of music, culture, and unforgettable performances. Leading the pack are celebrated artists Summer Walker, SZA, and Usher, each garnering a historic nine nominations in a remarkable three-way tie.
And notably African artists, Ayra Starr and emerging star Tyla also make their debut entry into the ‘Best New Artist‘ category.
Burna Boy stands tall among the nominees, with four impressive nods spanning various categories, including ‘Best R&B/Soul Male Artist,’ ‘Album of The Year,’ ‘Best Collaboration,’ and ‘The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award.’
Notably, the “Soul Train Awards” 2023 is not just a platform for acknowledging outstanding artists but also for recognizing the immense impact of Soul Train on music and dance from the ’70s to today.
The awards show will take a unique and innovative format this year, offering viewers an unforgettable and soulful experience. The event will premiere on Sunday, November 27, 2023, on BET Africa, DStv Channel 129.
