In celebration of BMW South Africa’s 50th anniversary, Alpina, a German company known for crafting high-performance versions of BMW cars, has manufactured 5 exclusive ALPINA B3s.
BWM states that the price, including Motorplan, VAT, and CO2 tax, is R2 960 341.20, and all five units are already sold and will be handed over to their owners this December 2023.
The ALPINA B3 50 Years of BMW South Africa edition is exclusively crafted with the distinctive ALPINA Green II metallic paint, making it a unique and standout model.
Typical ALPINA embellishments include ALPINA door sills and an ALPINA SWITCH-TRONIC sport leather steering wheel (with aluminium paddle shifter) bearing the LAVALINA design and hand-finished with bespoke stitching in white and ALPINA Green.
Furthermore, the BMW ALPINA B3 AWD is fitted with a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder inline engine featuring two ALPINA specific mono-scroll turbochargers that produces 364kW from 5,000 – 7,000 rpm and peak torque of 730 Nm from 2,500 – 4,500 rpm. Mated to an eight-speed Sport-Automatic transmission, it will cover the 0 – 100km/h sprint in 3.6 seconds before going on to a top speed of 305km/h.
In 2022, the BMW Group acquired the rights to Alpina, signifying that the highly-regarded tuning company is now officially integrated into BMW, marking a significant development in the automotive industry.
The model showcases exclusive touches, including full leather Merino Black seats adorned with embroidered anniversary logos, a commemorative plaque, Alpina embellishments on door sills, a sport leather steering wheel with distinctive detailing, Alpina Classic 20-inch forged wheels, and a variety of Alpina decals.
