
The highly anticipated Betway SA20 Cricket League Season 2 kicks off on Wednesday, 10 January 2024, promising cricket enthusiasts a summer filled with world-class cricket and entertainment.
The league, featuring South Africa’s best talent along with international cricket stars, will showcase 34 matches across six venues, culminating in the final on Saturday, 10 February 2024.
Defending champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, will launch the season against Joburg Super Kings at St George’s Park on 10 January, marking the beginning of intense contests and city-based rivalries among the six Indian Premier League (IPL)-owned teams. The league’s opening week will see each team hosting a home match.
The league has introduced a new playoff structure for Season 2, including a Qualifier 1, Eliminator, and Qualifier 2, leading up to the Final. Mid-week matches will start at 17h30, providing fans with post-work and post-school cricket enjoyment during the week.
League Commissioner Graeme Smith expressed excitement about the upcoming season, highlighting a jam-packed opening week and emphasizing the league’s commitment to offering fans a captivating experience. All matches will be broadcast live to various territories, and fans can follow the action on Betway SA20’s social media channels.
The success of Season 1, with a cumulative viewership of 8.96 million on SuperSport Premium, sets high expectations for Season 2, promising the same vibrant atmosphere, entertainment, and top-notch cricket talent.

The first six Betway SA20 matches as well as an extra game will be available for DStv Access subscribers. Each of the six franchises’ first home matches plus the clash between the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban Super Giants will be available to DStv Access customers and televised on SuperSport Variety 4 (DStv channel 209). Three Betway SA20 knockout games – the Qualifier 1, Eliminator and Qualifier 2 – will be made available to DStv Compact subscribers. DStv Premium customers can catch all 34 games live, while DStv Access subscriptions start from R99 per month.
