Netflix is extending its ongoing creative partnership with producer and filmmaker Tyler Perry with the addition of a multi-year first-look series deal.
The first series announced in the new deal is ‘Beauty in Black,’ a 16-episode drama, written, directed, and produced by Perry.
The upcoming drama series ‘Beauty in Black‘ follows two women living very different lives: Kimmie struggles to make a living after her mother kicks her out, while Mallory finds success running her own business — eventually, they find themselves entangled in each other’s lives. Angi Bones and Tony Strickland will also produce the series for Tyler Perry Studios.
Elsewhere, Perry’s upcoming Netflix content will begin airing on 23 Feb with “Mea Culpa,” a sizzling thriller starring and produced by Kelly Rowland.
Then later this year, viewers can anticipate “Six Triple Eight,” featuring Kerry Washington, telling the remarkable true tale of the first and only Women’s Army Corps unit of color stationed overseas during World War II.
