On Saturday, April 27, 2024, Lacoste launched a dance studio for the Happy Feet Youth program in Langa township in the Western Cape.

Lacoste helped launch this dance studio to provide a place for the children of Langa to gather and practice gumboot dancing, among other activities.

During the launch, Lacoste had Ismaël Khelifa and the French para-swimmer Théo Curin, a member of the Lacoste family since 2016, present at the event.

This connection prompted Lacoste's support for Théo's new project, the Madiba Challenge, which combines both sports and humanitarian efforts.

Among others in attendance were the founder of The Happy Feet Youth Project, Siviwe Mbinda, and the community leader.

The Happy Feet Youth Project, based in Langa township on the outskirts of Cape Town, is an after-school program centered on dance, music, and traditional instruments.

The project's powerful mission is to enhance educational opportunities and promote healthy lifestyles for participating children, instilling values such as confidence, discipline, expression, and respect through traditional, child-led choreographed gumboot dancing

The new dance studio for the Happy Feet Youth Project program is located at Siyabulela Primary School in Langa township.

“Lacoste will continue to support Happy Feet for at least 3 years. This project is fully in line with the brand's commitment and values and our belief in the power of sporting activity.”
