The highly anticipated second season of the Netflix drama ‘Savage Beauty‘ is set to premiere on 28 June 2024.
Produced by Quizzical Pictures, the six-episode series delves deeper into the tumultuous lives of the powerful Bhengu family, whose desperate measures to maintain their beauty empire lead to increasingly dangerous consequences.
Picking up right where the first season left off, the new season sees every character embroiled in a high-stakes battle for power and survival. Stately patriarch Don Bhengu, portrayed by Dumisani Mbebe, is rapidly losing his grip on both his family and their business.
His wife, Grace (Nthati Moshesh), and their children Phila (Jesse Suntele) and Linda (Nambitha Ben-Mazwi) are making unpredictable moves that threaten to tear the family apart.
The official synopsis reveals a narrative of manipulation, hidden secrets, and power struggles:
“A wealthy patriarch with a devastating secret manipulates his broken family back to unity while each member hides their power-hungry secrets, leading to infiltration by enemies and the destruction of the last of their true bonds.”
Eve Rasimeni, Angela Sithole, and Oros Mampofu reprise their roles, bringing back familiar faces to continue their intricate story arcs. Joining the cast this season are veterans Tony Kgoroge and Abena Ayivor, along with newcomer Lebogang Fisher, promising to add new dimensions to the already complex narrative.
The show continues to benefit from the creative vision of Quizzical Pictures, with Matshepo Maja, Harold Holscher, and Rea Rangaka directing the episodes.
Executive producers Lebogang Mogashoa and Harriet Gavshon remain at the helm, ensuring the series maintains its high production values and compelling storytelling.
