This week, we spotlight ‘Power Book II: Ghost‘ as our TV show of the week.
The Starz crime drama, which premiered its fourth and final season this past weekend, has been a compelling continuation of the ‘Power’ franchise since the original series ended in 2020.
Power Book II: Ghost follows Michael Rainey Jr. as Tariq St. Patrick, the son of James St. Patrick — also known as Ghost, a notorious drug lord and businessman. Tariq’s journey has been a gripping evolution from a student to a narcotics dealer, echoing the dual life once led by his father.
Season 4 is being released in two parts, with new episodes coming out weekly. The season opens with Tariq and Brayden (Gianni Paolo) in dire straits, having incited conflicts with Noma, the Tejadas, and Effie. Betrayed and desperate, the duo must devise a plan to ensure their survival.
The first episode, titled ‘Don’t Die Easy,’ sees Tariq and Brayden scrambling to secure their safety as they face threats from all sides. Meanwhile, Monet fights for her life and her chance to make amends with her children.
The official synopsis teases, “With new alliances formed in each faction, Tariq and Brayden must find a way back into the game — and a way to insulate themselves from ever being put in the same situation again. But when Brayden starts flirting with a new, reckless lifestyle, Tariq wonders if there really is room for two at the top.”
Monet’s storyline takes a critical turn as she confronts an unknown assailant who threatens her life. Davis, dealing with suspension and potential disbarment after his brother’s death, navigates his criminal enterprise with shifting loyalties based on personal gain. Effie, on the other hand, faces the harsh realities of their dangerous world and doubles down on her efforts to secure a legitimate future at Stanford, determined to escape the perilous life she’s known.
As ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ approaches its series finale, the stakes have never been higher for Tariq and his allies. This season will be intense drama and unexpected twists, so be sure stay tuned to the weekly episodes.
