BMW has officially revealed the latest model of its iconic M5, now featuring a powerful 535kW hybrid powertrain. This new model represents a significant step forward, combining high performance with the benefits of a plug-in hybrid system.
The heart of the new BMW M5 is a robust 4.4-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine, paired with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission. This is complemented by an electric motor that produces 145 kW and 280 Nm of torque.
The exterior design of the new BMW M5 showcases its high-performance nature. It features prominent wheel arches, side skirt extensions, a sculptural front apron, and unique surfacing around the C-pillar, complete with an embossed “M5” logo. These elements not only enhance its athletic look but also distinguish it from the standard BMW 5 Series Sedan. The use of body-coloured surfaces adds a sleek and stylish touch, highlighting the car’s dynamic capabilities.
Inside, the luxurious interior is adorned with M-specific features, creating an ambience that reflects the car’s multifaceted character. Whether driving in electric-only mode or tapping into its full power on the track, the new BMW M5 offers a balanced and confident driving experience. Its performance is discreet during relaxed drives but can be unleashed when needed.
The M HYBRID system, along with specially tuned power transmission and chassis technology, gives the new BMW M5 unmatched handling and dynamics in its segment. This, combined with its exceptional responsiveness, elevates M performance to new heights.
The world premiere of the new BMW M5 is set for the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England in July 2024. Production will begin at the BMW Group Plant in Dingolfing the same month, with a global market launch planned for November 2024, alongside the new BMW M5 Touring.
