Fresh outta the oven! adidas has dropped the new Manchester United home kit for the 2024/25 season, drawing inspiration from the classic shirts worn by the legendary Busby Babes.
These historic kits were designed with fluorescent materials to enhance visibility under floodlights, giving players an edge on the pitch.
The new kit features a striking design that blends bold shades of red to create a gradient effect from light to dark, mimicking the unique visual changes of the original rayon fabric under stadium lights. This dynamic color scheme brings a fresh yet nostalgic touch to the home kit.
A distinctive, flame-like red insert runs down the side panel of the jersey and shorts, a color feature never before seen on a Manchester United home kit. This bright insert creates a connecting line that stands out against the backdrop of the stadium, emphasizing players’ movements on the field.
The design is finished with a seasonal crew neck, and the iconic Adidas three-stripes, Adidas logo, and sponsor logos are all presented in contrasting white. Adding a final nod to the club’s heritage, a red devil sign-off is featured on the front of the accompanying black socks.
The lightweight jerseys incorporate the latest Adidas technology, developed in close collaboration with players. The on-field version of the jersey is constructed with HEAT.RDY technology, using advanced materials to maximize airflow and keep players cool. Meanwhile, the fan version features AEROREADY technology, which uses sweat-wicking or absorbent materials to keep the body dry.
The on-field version of the kit is available for purchase at adidas.co.za for R2,199.
